Akili Dada is an international, award-winning leadership incubator cultivating transformative leadership in a generation of young African women. Akili Dada apply a holistic approach to educating and cultivating leadership in adolescent girls and young women, ages 13 – 30, employing four key strategies to nurture growth and meaningful impact: financial investment, leadership development, skills development and mentorship.
By selecting from and building the capacity of some of Africa’s most innovative young women, Akili Dada is meeting the urgent need for both more African women in leadership, as well as the overarching need for creative and empathetic leadership that holds justice at its core.
Under Akili Dada’ Community Leaders program, Akili Dada has been supporting social enterprises in rural areas overcome these limitations, Akili Dada in collaboration with Forum Syd provided a fund to contribute to strengthening and growth of 30 social enterprises led by young women in Kisumu, Busia, Siaya, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Kilifi, and Kwale.
Impertimus Education Investment was selected among the 30 social enterprises for two years from 2019 to 2021. Under this program, Impertimus has piloting Abaki Shule (stay in school) low cost tuition fees loan offered via crowd lending platform for parents/guardians to access funding for tuition for their children.
